VMware vCloud Automation Center 5.2 Detailed Installation Guide Email This BlogThis! Share to Twitter Share to Facebook VMware announced the release of vCloud Automation Center (vCAC) 5.2 in April, a dot-release follow on to vCAC 5.1.  This release shipped with it several improvements, bug fixes, tighter vCloud Director integration, and so on.  Some of the highlights include, but not limited to: Deeper integrations with vCloud Director - vCAC 5.1 added basic support for consuming vCD as an Endpoint to enable vApp deployments into VDC's. Although functional, the options were limited, especially with "day 2" management of vApps. vCAC 5.2 adds greater functionality, deployment options, support for all three VDC allocation models (PAYG, Allocation Pool, Reservation Pool), and the ability to manage individual machine within the vApp independently...a much needed addition. Added support for vCloud Networking & Security (vCNS) use cases - vCNS integration brings with it the ...

Creating my first cloud in 2007

Hi everyone, In 2007, i have created for Fujitsu Québec what we call now a IAAS Cloud.  Yes IT was 5 years ago and this Project was called EVE ( for environnement virtuel d'exploitation ou d exploration , or in english virtual production or exploration environnement). At this Time we use to work with vmware and Microsoft technology, so we did use hyper-v, scvmm 2008, and vmware infrastructure version 3.5. Vmware lab manager was not available at the beginning of the project. So first a little description of the hardware. 5 Fujitsu servers, 1 Fujitsu eternus SAN, fc 4 gb, 1 gb Network.  But why did we use hyper-v, IT was releated to Microsoft evaluation products which were available in vhd only and licences delivered by MS were not convertible. So two hosts were dedicated to Microsoft, 2 for vmware, and last one was able to make dual boot and got enough internal Storage for external demo. So we did have a virtual vcenter, ad, and scvmm. All the Lab was managed by scvmm. IT did h...
